Shri Krishna Mandir

In 1997, along with some members of the Great Hartford Community, I started the Shri Krishna Mandir. The purpose of the Mandir is provide a safe place for all Hindus to worship freely according to the Vedas and Puranas; to protect and propagate Sanatan Dharma; to provide a place of education for Hindu scriptures; to educate children and future generation.
The Mandir began in first services in March of 1997 located at 27-29 Kenneth Street. In 2012, we were able to finally purchase a property located at 681 Broad Street, Hartford, CT 06106.
Summer 2021 Hawan Classes
For the Summer of 2021, the Shri Krishna Mandir will be hosting Hawan classes via Facebook. These classes will begin on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 and will continue ever Tuesday thereafter until the end of Summer. As the classes will be held in the homes of devotees, you will require the following items:
Access to Facebook (please friend me @ Khilesh Adhin)
A lota or cup
2 Metal spoons
Cow Ghee
Cotton Balls soaked with ghee (vegetable or cow) to burn in the Hawan Kund
A bowl for the ghee
Saamaagri
Diya filled with ghee with wick (for aarti)
Hawan Kund
Every session will require approximately 1 ounce of saamaagri and 1 ounce of ghee. Please line your hawan kund with aluminum foil and put it on a piece of wood.
The children and parents should fast for that day. Which means, no meat or egg products, or products purchased from the store.
